ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION THERAPY EFFECT ON DIMENSIONAL STABILITY OF DENTURE BASES AND ITS ORAL HEALTH IMPACT ON DAILY PERFORMANCE

Background: The demonstration of moderately simple sterilization-disinfection measures in daily practice is very serious to decrease the probabilities cross-infection as prosthetic appliances have be sterilized prior transferred technician and patient. used disinfection method should properly selected due its great effect on physical mechanical properties denture bases. Aim: This research was conducted study consequences chemical electromagnetic radiation methods dimensional stability oral health impact performance. Also, evaluate repeated microwave under different conditions. Materials Methods: Group I: Denture using (1%) sodium hypochlorite for 10 minutes. II: (650 W 3 minutes / once per week) divided into 2 subgroups: II-A: Dentures kept dry during disinfection. II-B: wet distilled water III: twice III-A: III-B: Dimensional patient satisfaction (OIDP) questionnaire were evaluated after one- three-weeks follow-up periods. Results: Comparison between changes 1st & 3rd week revealed insignificant difference regarding I (expansion) GII-A GII-B (Shrinkage) P > 0.05. On other hand, there a significant (shrinkage) GIII-A GIII-B P<0.05. Oral performance insignificantly decreased all groups except OIDP significantly decreased.
